I really enjoyed this series and I’m super happy to have re-read it. And why was I so surprised at the demise of all the characters I’d begrudgingly come to love?

Jul 28, Maggie Maxfield rated it really liked it. The author beautifully explores the fact that Christianity was still in formation, and therefore not entirely closed to external influences. This book is not yet featured on Listopia. Probably her most famous single novel is The Mists of Avalon. All characters were extremely well developed and multifaceted, which helped me relate to them.
Bradley wrote many Darkover novels by herself, but in her later years collaborated with voluke authors for publication; her literary collaborators have continued the series since her death. It got tiring really early in the book.
The world is ever wrought with change. All characters had their end explained, one way or the other, and I didn’t find any loose ends.

As Brumas de Avalon – A Rainha Suprema
I was completely over Gwenhwyfar and her whining. This was the last installment of main The Mists of Avalon story, as far as I understand it.
The story wraps up pretty nicely, but now in the full scope of the series, I am disappointed in how flat and unchanging the characters seem. Grieving and still without Excalibur, Morgaine makes a hasty retreat to Avalon.
